Mean-Meaning-Meaningful 2017-18

The struggle of communicating a message when no one quite understands you. The words “mean”, “meaning” and “meaningful” in their own right have multiple meanings or let us say definitions (!) and here I am using morse code ia attempted to tap out the words with louder, more forceful hammer strikes being dashes and lighter, more subtle strikes being dots all the while trying to ensure the nails are driven into the timber hard enough to be secure. Security of the nails was not 100%, and my hammer strikes were not alway as accurate as I would have liked so the first aid kit ensured the show went on.

Materials: Chair, timber, metal stands, hammer and nails.
Duration: Approx 90-120 minutes
Performanced in 2017 at Dedspace, Roselle and in 2018 at Verge Gallery, Darlington
